The Big Race

This is one of the times that I'll admit that Delainey takes after me. She loves to run. And by that I mean that she actually enjoys running. And she happens to be pretty good at it ;) This is the second year in a row that she's been able to participate in "The Big Race" at her elementary school. Every year, the top 2 kids per class or grade (I'm not really sure which) are invited to run in a race at the end of the school year. They run 2 classes at a time, so Kindergarten and 1st grade, 2nd and 3rd grades, and 4th and 5th grades. The whole school comes out to watch them.

This is where taking after her mother comes in...Delainey tied (with her cousin, Simon) for 4th place. She also happened to be the TOP girl finisher in the Kindergarten/1st Grade race! With a 1/2 mile time of 3:45. And the crazy part, like I said before, is that she REALLY enjoys it! She might just be my future cross country runner! It makes me miss my running days a little bit ;)

Way to go Lainey!!!

Waiting for the race to start.

Still waiting...

Announcing her name.

May is crazy!

May is always a really crazy month for us. So, I apologize that there were so many post in one day and that it's pretty much only pictures. I just wanted to hurry up and get them posted before I got even further behind. So, our little family celebrated 2 birthdays this month and had a graduation...that doesn't include all the festivities that include our extended family. Throw in a few more birthdays and a baptism, your everyday stuff, and appointments with contractors and electricians, and you've got a pretty full month!

Even though our life has been crazy busy, it's been good. Like I said, we got to celebrate 2 birthdays this month. One of which was Noah's FIRST birthday! He's such a big boy! And he's absolutely amazing! Love, love, love him!

I got to have lunch with my old college roommate, and it was great to see her again! We've had contractors and electricians come for estimates, and my awesome brother-in-law is fixing our duct work, and we've been looking for doors to replace the old garage door. So, work on the basement is now moving right along. I'll take that...even if it makes life a little crazier :)

May might be crazy...but maybe crazy is good!

Look Who's One!!!

Mikaela's 5th Birthday

Mikaela turned 5 on May 11th. She was so excited for her birthday this year! She got to go to school, take cookie cake for her friends, and be the line leader. When Andy got home, she got to open presents...which is what she was waiting for ALL day! She was excited about all her new stuff, but especially her new BIG bike, that has a baby carrier on the back. Since Andy and I both had to be out at church, we didn't really get to do anything more exciting than that. But since a celebration was in order, the kids got Happy Meals (which is a rare event for our kids), and cookie cake to eat out at church. All in all, she was pretty pleased with her day :)

We're New to the Whole Blogging Thing

I enjoy reading everyone else's blogs, and I've wanted to start one of my own for a while. I just never get around to it. I think maybe I put off doing it because I don't really know what I'm doing ;) I figure now is as good as any time to start, since I don't see life slowing down any time soon. Let's just throw one more log onto the fire ;)

So, I think for this first post I'll just experiment and try to add some pictures.

This is the most recent picture I have of all the kids together.

Noah likes to "help" with the laundry.

Better posts and more pictures will come later...once I figure out what it is that I'm doing :)
